John T. Gill, MD
Orthopaedic SurgeonWelcome to Dallas Sports Medicine Specialists
With over 25 years of experience in private practice, Dr. John Gill is a fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine. He treats injuries of the extremities, including torn cartilage, fractures, sprains and ligaments tears, and have particular expertise in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder. One of Dr. Gill's more common procedures is the arthroscopic reconstruction of the torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) of the knee. In addition to sports related knee injuries, our doctors work with patients of all ages who have various disorders of their joints such as meniscal tears, chondromalacia, or rotator cuff tears, often the result of degenerative arthritis or wear and tear of the joint.
Our practice is based on the fundamental principle of personal attention. Patients enjoy a stress free environment without the hurried pace that one can sometimes experience when visiting the doctor. The staff takes careful attention not to overschedule Dr. Gill so he can work with patients on a personal level, giving them the time and attention they deserve. There is very little turnover in the staff, so when patients come back, they see the same familiar faces and most know all of the staff by first name after only a few visits. The practice does not use physician assistants or nurse practitioners, but instead Dr. Gill sees every patient and does every procedure himself, including casting and dressing changes. When you call the office during normal hours, a friendly human voice answers the phone to assist you. Having an orthopaedic injury can be quite unsettling, especially if you are an athlete. Dr. Gill makes it a priority to create an environment for his patients that can help ease the pain and stress of having such an injury.
